While driving home after dropping Marie off a kind stranger texted us a picture of the missionaries that were all flying to England with Marie. It was such a wonderful gesture! And made my mama heart happy knowing Marie would not be traveling alone.
We also got a picture of the airplane as it taxied away from the gate.
The missionaries made their connecting flight in Orlando and flew to Manchester, England. From there a bus took them to the Preston England MTC. Here’s Marie’s first email letting us know she arrived!
“We got the MTC about an hour ago and they’re having us fill out some paperwork and get interviews with the president. Then we get to eat lunch, unpack, and exercise for a while, and they’re even letting us take naps! Only for an hour though, because they don’t want us to be awake at 2:00 this morning.I was the only one traveling in the group that wasn’t from Utah. The bus ride from the airport to the MTC was kind of scary; I think Brits are a little crazy, but there was a ton of old farm buildings and wheat fields, and flocks of sheep. It’s weird; it’s like city mixed with country all over the place, not one or the other. At least here in Manchester and Preston. They’re doing yard work on the MTC right now and a guy just drove by in a John Deere tractor 🙂 I feel like I’m a total hick and a dumb little country mouse, but that’s probably because I am. We’ll be in the MTC for three weeks.Well I have to go get my interview.Love you!Marie”
