I was sure saddle sore these first two weeks! We’re talking like ten times worse than anything I actually got on a horse. Whew! It was basically gone this morning when I got on my bike, but then we biked to the store and stuffed all the groceries in our back packs to take home, and all the added weight pushing down on my rump I think is going to make it rebound again.
It’s getting tons better though, as far as homesickness goes. I can definitely feel everyone’s prayers this week, and I think that’s the difference. But really it’s getting better. The hardest part is the time right when I wake up, to the time I get out of bed. I don’t know why, that moment is just really depressing. But once I’m up and awake, everything is great! Sister Leppard has me taking D Vitamins, because she says that with how much the sun shine at home, and how little there is here right now, I’m probably lacking it. And she said the D Vitamin is “the sunshine vitamin that gives you a greater sense of well-being.”
I’ve gone down two belt loops since the last time I wore my belt, so I’m on the smallest one now. I must be lose weight with all this biking. My calves are getting smaller too, because I pull the hems of my night pants up over my calves to make shorts, and they used to just stay there, but they won’t anymore. They just fall right back down. But my weight on the scale has stayed he same, so I must be building muscles (again, from the biking.) But it’s in kg, so I don’t even know what it is.
This week we went to a baptism for a little boy, and it was just like our family baptisms, where the whole big extended family is there. And then yesterday was stake conference, and it was SUPER good. The saints here are just like saints at home. The church, and families, and stakes are the same.
This week I made myself a really good bbq chicken sandwich with peppers.
And I also brought my John Deere cup…
Here is what a couple of kids did one night. They put up an old mattress box to the roof of the chapel, and rode their bikes on the roof, and down the mattress box. Can you believe that?!
