I’m so glad to hear that cousin Dean is here and still doing good!
First of all, happy birthday to Debbie and Julie this week!!! I wish I was there to eat your delicious birthday desserts! Personally, I’m craving pumpkin pie and squares and other delicious fall treats, but people here just don’t seem to eat pumpkin, so I can’t make any until I find the things to do it!
Today we had a district p-day and we went laser-tagging. It was actually kind of scary. It was fun, but I didn’t like it a whole lot…because it was scary!!! Then we went to Kaspa’s again (the all-dessert restaurant). I’ll just send you pictures…
This week we’ve been (trying) to do a LOT of finding. We’ve tracted a lot of roads, and stopped a lot of people on the street, but no one seems to be interested. However, we did have a neat experience on Tuesday. We felt when we were planning the week before like we should tract a road at 7:00 on Tuesday night the next week, but we didn’t know which road. That day we went to a member’s house for lunch, and afterwards we shared a video and scripture with her and then asked her if she could pray for a road for us to tract. Then on Tuesday we texted her and she gave us the name of a road literally around the corner from our house. We knocked on a lot of doors, and there were a lot of good people that we were able to talk to, but none of them really wanted to know more. Almost the last house we knocked on before we had to go home was a really spry elderly man named Dudley. We taught him the Restoration on his doorstep, and he asked us if we could come back and tell him more. So we will be seeing him tomorrow morning.
We haven’t had a lot happening this week, but there’s a lot planned for the week ahead. We’ll be meeting with the Royal British Legion this Thursday in Cardiff, and then transfers will be Friday instead of Tuesday, due to the fact that Elder Cook will be visiting the mission next Monday! We’ll be having a mission conference in Solihull where he’ll be speaking to us. But since he is coming on Monday we will likely be having our p day on the Saturday before, so Friday would be a better time to email me 😊 We also have a new Area Book App that we have to do training for this week.
We’ve spent a lot of time walking around this week. I’ve reverted to just singing the song “Pioneer Children Sang as They Walked, and WALKED, and WALKED, and WAAALKED.” But it’s been dry and sunny, so it’s been good.
Oh yes, see that big hill in the distance with all the houses on it? Yeah, We live on the OTHER side of that. That was a long walk . . .in the dark. With a torch (flashlight).
Tuesday we met with a recent convert from Llanelli. There are Elders serving in Llanelli, so she likes to come down and visit with us, instead of them. She was having a bit of trouble though and asked for a priesthood blessing. Now we’re sister, and we can’t give priesthood blessings, but it just so happened that exactly when she asked for one, and elders randomly crossed paths with us. God really knows exactly what we need, right when we need it. We were in city centre though and the queitest place we could find to administer the blessing was behind one of the towers of the ancient Swansea castle. I have so much faith in the priesthood. She didn’t even tell the elders anything that she was going through, yet every single thing that was said in her blessing was right on target of what she needed help with.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Hopefully I will have more exciting things to tell you next time.
