I hope you all had a great week!
This week went well, we were able to have a zone conference on Wednesday. It was very good and I learned a lot. I like meetings like that because I can actually sit back and just learn the gospel from someone else, which is a refresher since I’m the one trying to teach it most of the time. Sometimes it’s nice to just be able to learn it all laid back and easy. Plus, it rained and rained the whole day, and it was freezing cold, so we were all glad we were stuck inside for almost seven hours rather than riding out in the weather!
In zone conference President Leppard suggested that we study Jacob 5, the tree of life, and Alma 32, which was very convenient because the allegory is the exact chapter I was supposed to read next in the Book of Mormon. Anyway, I started studying it with the institute manual and in there it quoted Truman G. Madsen about the olive press and I remembered that mom gave me a bunch of classic speeches on my iPod and one of them was called The Olive Press, and it was by him, so I listened to that and printed it out, and I’ve been studying it for the past week. It’s really interesting learning about all the symbolism there is in Gethsemane, and the olive tree, and olive oil. It’s helped me learn a lot about the Atonement.
On Saturday we had round two of walking back from Kinver. We rode there and it was a little rainy on the way. We did our business there quickly because we had to get back and do some service, and lo and behold, Sister Price’s tire was flat when we started back! We did the 6+miles in better time than round one though! Halfway back it started raining a LOT, but we had fun walking through the puddles. 🙂 Haha, whenever that happens we joke that Heavenly Father probably knew we would fall in the canal if we rode back along it so He made the tire flat so we would walk it instead.
We were able to do some service this week, and also commit a former investigator of the Elders’ to take discussions again!
I am so grateful for this wonderful Gospel! Life would be so hollow without it. I’m thankful to have such a superb family who also loves the Gospel. We are so blessed to know of the Plan of Salvation and understand our path back to a Heavenly Father. Life with this knowledge is pretty wonderful.
I love you ALL and pray for you everyday. Thank you for your prayers! They keep me strong! I love you, have an amazing week and laugh a lot!
