Our week was good! We still have one investigator set on a baptismal date for the 20th. He has a really sincere desire to be baptised and he’s been taught everything. His only problem is that he’s from the Congo and he has a really strange sleeping pattern so he won’t go to bed until 2 or three in the morning, and then he can’t get up for church in the morning. So that’s the problem we’re trying to work on right now.
Haha! It was strange. So we found out his last name, and then a couple days later we were going through the Ward list putting the members into our maps, and this name popped up. And it isn’t a normal name: Kokongando. The guy was four years older than the man we are teaching and we figured it was his brother because he had said his family lived in the area this man did. So we got this strange fear that maybe the family had been baptised in he Congo and then their records had been lost when they’d moved here. It happens a lot and the language barrier is pretty tough, so we’re trying to get some detective work done on that to make sure he isn’t a member already. That would be an awkward call to make to President. “Hi, President. So we have a problem. You know that guy that we baptised? Well, he was already a member. Sorry about that. What should we do?”
And basically….yeah. That’s pretty much the only investigator we have. We found a really solid one at the beginning of the week, but she dropped us on Sunday. I’ve really had no investigators in this area at all, and I’ve been here three months. We’ve been hunting and hunting for them the whole time, but nothing. Kinda sad, but we keep trying. I don’t feel as if it’s our fault though. Sister Price and I have done everything in our power to find them. So there ya go, we don’t have investigators!
The weather has been pretty good here too! I’m so glad! But thankfully we don’t have many snakes here. We cycled a LOT his week. One day it was 20 miles and it just so happened to be the day we decided to fast. Sister Leppard probably would have killed us if she found out we did that, so we made sure not to tell her.
Oooo I’m excited to get the packages! Our zone conference isn’t until the 17th so I’m not sure when it’ll get to me, but sometime within the transfer! I should be getting a package off to you tomorrow. There’s not much in it, but a couple of things I found, including Swiss chocolate that was on sale for a really good price 😉
Sister Price felt quite special when she heard Jason was praying for her 😊 She loves it when I get pictures of the little boys! Sister Price is doing good. She’s getting closer and closer to going home! Five more weeks! In a month I have my self-reliance meeting with my group and they are going to try and help us figure out what we want to do with our lives when we get back from our missions, so that should be interesting.
There are a LOT of East Indians here, Romanians, Russians, Syrians, Sudanese, and a whole bunch of others. Last week we helped teach a bunch of them English!
We are hopefully going to go down to a little village called Clent today! 😊 It looks nice so hopefully I can get some pictures because unfortunately I didn’t take any this week!!!
Oh! Our new elder is elder Menezes from Brazil. Hehe, he’s so South American! He’s hilarious! He kind of reminds me of Ira sometimes. 😂
I love you!
