I hope you enjoyed general conference because I did! We basically spent most of the week in the chapel which was in a way nice, but also in a way incredibly boring for a missionary. Friday morning into the afternoon we had zone conference, then in the evening we had a Ward Social, the next day we had a baptism, in the morning, then the women’s session in the afternoon, then the Saturday morning session in the evening. Then Sunday was Conference all day. And now it’s p-day…in the chapel. I love the chapel, but I miss the streets! We had so much training those three days and so much spiritual nourishment, and all I wanted to do was go out and find people and talk to them about the Book of Mormon, but we were stuck in the chapel.
I feel so rejuvenated from general conference though! It was so good to hear from our leaders and I hope President Monson can get well soon. I was sorry to hear about Elder Hales. I stayed awake the whole time! But we only got to watch three sessions. I can’t wait for the last session talks to come out on gospel library so that I can read them. All the ones I heard were So Good. I loved President Nelson’s, and Elder Oaks, and Elder Holland’s, and I guess I could go on and on with all of them.
On a side note, the youth choir in conference sounded so American! Haha!
My stomach is feeling okay…at the moment. I threw up three times this week, and it’s weird cause one hour I’ll feel great and I feel like I could eat pizza and cake and all that, but I don’t because I know that in an hour or two I’ll probably feel like puking and fainting again. It just goes in phases, really quick ones. Mostly I feel really bad in the morning, so I end up not exercising at all so my muscles haven’t really been working the past couple weeks and that’s not doing much as far as strength goes. But I told Heavenly Father seven months ago that I was willing to give Him everything, including my health, so I don’t care much.
We got your package after zone conference! Sister Siri-Ek says to tell you thank you soooo much, I think she was really happy to get letters and things. She sent a package to her family today and it was literally full of chocolate, haha. And it weighed 5kgs!
This week I was studying in Mosiah when Alma is baptising all the people at he waters of Mormon, and in that one verse it talks about the place of Mormon, and the forest and the waters, and Moroni says, “How beautiful are they in the eyes of those who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer.” To them there was a specific place where they came to know God, and it made me think of where my place was, and I really had to think about it for a couple days and wrack my brain. I came up with the conclusion that at home and at BYU-Idaho I developed my knowledge of Jesus Christ as my brother, but it wasn’t until I came to England that I actually came to the knowledge of Him as my Redeemer, and that’s the reason I love England so much, because of the things I’ve learned here. If it hadn’t been for England and my mission, I don’t know if right now I’d even know actually that He is literally my Redeemer. Here I really learned that without a Him, there’s no chance I would make it Home, and with Him I absolutely can. I love it and I know I’m going to miss it. 😇
I’m grateful for all of you and all that you do. I love you all!
