Well, here in Leicester (“Less-tur”) zone on the opposite side of the mission from Wales I forgot that their zone conferences are held at the beginning of the transfer, not at the end, so on Thursday I found myself unexpectedly being called up to give my departing testimony in front of the zone. Yet was a surprise, and it was also super weird because I still have five weeks before I leave, so it didn’t feel like I was actually leaving. But Sister Ackley was the only other missionary in the zone going home so we got to give our departing testimonies together, and that was special because we were companions in the MTC, so we started together and we got to finish together! I cried, of course. 😥 I’ve been doing that a lot lately.
Well Stamford is very English and very posh to say the least. In fact, Mr. Darcy’s house in the movie “Pride & Prejudice” is like a five minute drive from our flat. Stamford is your cute little cream-brick English town! It’s just what everyone imagines England to be like. It sure feels different on this side of the mission; I can actually feel a difference. It’s not a bad different, but I can tell I’m certainly not in Wales anymore.
Oh, update on how Chinese Challenge Week turned out. We did a tie-breaker with a set of elders in Birmingham…..and we lost by THREE SECONDS! Literally. It was kinda sad. We finished the challenge but I didn’t call until like one minute after we finished it because some things happened, and I just happened to call the Assistants THREE SECONDS after the other elders. 😂 It was so funny and so sad. But the second place prize was better than the first place prize I thought. First place was just dinner with President and Sister Leppard, but second place winners got Chinese EBM sweatshirts. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m a girl and I like clothes. PLUS, Cardiff A is SET now for the next three or four transfers with all the investigators we found and all the work we did that week. They had a baptism on Saturday, but I couldn’t go because I’m all the way on the other side of Britain.
I hope you all have a great week! I love you all so much!
Sister Wadsworth 😘
