Hello Dear Family,
Wow it hardly seems like another week has gone by again. I hardly know what to say to you anymore. I suppose I can just echo what Mary Ann said in her letter last week; I’m sure happy. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’m sure happy. It is so strange how something so difficult can make one so overwhelmingly glad. I wish every guy and girl and child could feel the tender swelling peace of the Gospel of our Lord. I love it more than I love anything.
We’ve been to Boston and Nottingham this week. Oh haha, I got a parking ticket when I was in exchange that I have to pay because I accidentally parked in a disabled scape which I didn’t see because it was dark, and my companion didn’t see it either. So I withdrew £35 to pay it. I also bought some Christmas gift ornaments, one for each of the kids, as well as chocolate for Christmas so I spent about £40 on that today.
A time lapse of the English countryside
We also had stake conference Saturday and Sunday which was really good. Well, he parts that I was awake for anyways, haha. Oh my gosh though, the adult session on Saturday night….. We had two really good talks about family history and I was totally feeling the Spirit and everything, and then the next speaker got up and I was like, ‘Ooo, I can’t wait to hear what she’s going to speak in, I bet it’s going to be great!’ Then she stands up and says, “I’ve been assigned the topic of sexual intimacy in marriage.” 🙈😳 I’m pretty sure every missionary there blushed. Afterwards everyone was texting us, “What did you think of stake conference? That one talk was just for us don’t ya think?” 😂 Oh my goodness, it was so awkward.
Yesterday I accidentally slept through the Sunday session of stake conference. A tender mercy was that we sang an intermediate hymn before President’s talk, so it woke me up when everyone started singing, so I was able to listen to his talk. Then afterwards I could say, “Yours was my favourite talk, President!” and be absolutely honest because it was the only one I heard! My new sleeping habit isn’t the best though when I’m on exchanges with greenies. Only one left for the transfer though and I get to spend it with my companion from the MTC! I’ll be spending my Thanksgiving at the mission home for my departing interview with two of my favourite sisters and I guess I couldn’t have asked for any better being away from my family.
We have interviews with President on Wednesday, and then on Wednesday night Sister Ackley, Sister Pugmire and I get to spend the night together and then take a train to the mission home on Thursday morning for our departing interviews. Plus we’re going on exchange with Sister Ackley on Tuesday, so I pretty much get to see her all week! Haha, we’re all so excited to come home. They’re both trying not to be trunkie for the sake of their greenie companions, but whenever we’re together without them they just buckle, “We’re so close!” 😭
The zone leaders parked right behind us and then left so we had to squirm out if our space and it took at least 20 minutes with Sister Pugmire and two of the elders directing me. But we made it!
I won’t actually be in Stamford this week until Friday. It is so weird. It’s just a weird feeling and I don’t know what to expect. Haha, I told a greenie I exchanged with that I feel more confused at the end of my mission than I did at the beginning of it. Oh well!!!
I love you all so much and I hope you all have a good Thanksgiving!
See you next week!
❤️ Sister Wadsworth
