We won challenge week!!!!!! Our zone did anyway. We figured since we were the Birmingham Zone in the Birmingham mission we had to win. So this morning was a zone p-day at the mission home, which was pretty fun. Well, it was fun to at least get out of our area for p-day anyways. They gave us EBM t-shirts and had us play a bunch of games. I must admit I did quite well in all of them, the wheel barrow race, the three-legged race, and the target throwing. And then our team won tug of war too! After that our mission president showed us how to do self defense. He’s super nice!
Last week went pretty quick, but we didn’t really get to get much done. We had interviews on Tuesday and afterwards sort of accidentally walked into an ET (emergency transfer) outside in the parking lot. Woopsie-daisy.
Wednesday was quad-zone conference in Cheltenham. Here’s a bunch of us packed on a train. It was a long bit of travel that day, but I like trains, plus the conference was worth it because I got to see Sister Romero!!!
I tried to get some pictures of the countryside, but the only one that kinda turned out was this one.
Thursday we spent at the church using the computer for a TON of office work that had built up over the past couple of transfers. May I just say, I will never have an office job ever. A cubicle is just not my place to shine, folks. I was so wiped out by the end of that day!
Friday we had an exhausting lesson with an investigator and afterward all I wanted to do was curl up and go to sleep, and also eat ice cream. So I did not feel mentally that great after that lesson, but we happened to find a Bible Exhibition going on in the library so we went to that, and it was really, really neat! They had so many old bibles from different eras, and also a time/story line of the bible, which surprisingly taught all 100% true doctrine, so that was a much needed bonus after our investigator trying to slam us with false doctrine from the bible beforehand.
One of the old ladies in our ward keeps telling us about how stuff goes on discount at Tesco every night at 7:00, so we decided to go by that night, and Sister Price bought about a months worth of rice noodles for less than a pound.
She was pretty happy!
Saturday we spend most of it setting up for a ward party at which I neglected to take any pictures, so there aren’t any. And yesterday realised I don’t normally send photos of me and it used to drive me nuts when missionaries sent home pictures but they weren’t in any of them, so solely for that purpose, I took a selfie for you all! (And we all know how much I HATE selfies! 😊)
I’m currently sitting on a windowsill behind the APs desk because there is an outlet here and my iPad didn’t charge last night because our circuit blew during the night. The shower stopped, and fridge, the heating, the toaster, and everything else plugged in, plus the washer already broke last week, so our flat is basically not working. It was freezing this morning when we woke up! The only thing that was working this morning were the lights.
I love you and pray for you every day! 😍
